An article on the USB modulator Dektec DTU-215

If you are looking for a great DVB signal modulator that is easily portable for demos, have a look at this free article from the Tele-Satellite magazine.

I do not completely agree with the end of the article where it says that LINUX do not provide a tool like StreamXpress player. Within Dektec's Linux drivers, there is the tool called DtPlay that is the same kind of tool but without any Graphical User Interface. It does the same, see: DtPlay -?

DtPlay does not support the DTU family of modulators, see DtPlay -?

Sorry to be late to reply. I just check and in the help output of DtPlay, it is only written 100, 102, 105, 107, 110, 112, 115, 116, 117, 140, 145, 160, 205, 245, 545, 2111, 2145, 2152 or 2160.

But I think this is a mistake as inside the code (DtPlay.cpp) you can see "m_DvcType>=200" meaning the check of DTU value. There is also the error message "The current Dtu2xx driver is not compatible with this version of DtPlay" which means it is if you use the latest Linux Driver (which installs the library DTAPI used by DtPlay)
